Last year, on one side of the planet, Dickie Gonzalez (PESO Phils CEO), Mark So (CEO of Businessmaker Academy) and I were brainstorming about fund-raising ideas. Mark joked that it would probably be nice to have something that was part Apprentice and part Entrepreneur, something both factual and highly entertaining. Months later, Karlo Laforeteza (PESO US) saw this show while he was stuck in an airport. CNN has a series that in each episode features a SME that is mentored by an industry expert. For people in the US, you can watch this on Saturdays 11 am EST. For people in the Philippines, we're going to have to beg Karlo and Tina to tape it for us! :) Now my fellow Cambridge-MIT alums in Britain tell me about the Dragon's Den, which is a lovely and apt name for pitching to a bunch of private equity investors and successful entrepreneurs. I'm sensing a trend here, people... Maybe next year, we'll have the PESO Challenge reality show. *snicker*

I seriously think such a show would draw a lot of interest in the Philippines, and could do a lot of good. If it can't start off being a show by itself, maybe one of these morning talk shows can have it as a regular section. Alas Singko y Medya perhaps? (I loved that show)

Yeah, but which show? The mentoring one? Or the one where you pitch to VCs and entrepreneurs?

Either, but it would probably better to start with the mentoring one - I think it would be more exciting because it will focus on existing businesses and show them in action rather than just show a group of people talking (even if every single one of them is a Maoi Arroyo) :P
